Many patients with neuropsychiatric disorders such as anxiety, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression or pain respond only partially to medication and psychotherapy. Advances in (cognitive) neuroscience are increasingly making it possible to understand the neuronal malfunctions in the aforementioned clinical pictures and to use the knowledge gained for therapy. Thanks to well-founded neuromarker diagnostics, malfunctions of neuronal networks can be detected and then treated. The aim of the treatment is targeted neuromodulation, i.e. the positive influence on the function of neuronal networks. Methods such as neuro/biofeedback (NFB/BFB), transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and transcranial pulse stimulation (TPS) are used.

Key Highlights

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)

A non-invasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain, commonly used to treat depression and other mood disorders.

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS)

A form of neurostimulation that delivers constant, low current to specific areas of the brain, aiding in the treatment of conditions like depression and chronic pain.

Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS)

A therapy that uses acoustic waves to stimulate brain regions, potentially beneficial for cognitive impairments and neurodegenerative diseases.

Neurofeedback & Biofeedback (NFB/BFB)

Techniques that train individuals to control physiological processes, improving conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, and stress-related disorders.
